Understanding your Jet Pump System Quote

Before Comparing Jet Pump System Quotes Note the Design Differences

When reviewing your Jet Pump System quote, it is important to understand JJ Tech provides the most comprehensive system packages in the industry: They include everything you need to power your Hydraulic Jet Pump safely and efficiently.

To make their bid look more attractive, other jet pump system providers quote the bare minimum of components to qualify as a surface jet pump skid. Not only is this deceptive, field personnel must scramble to add the necessary components to make your system complete.

JJ Tech understands that time is money. That's why our comprehensive and fully functional jet pump systems are assembled and tested before being shipped from our Shreveport, Louisiana facility to your location.

So, when comparing the best jet pump system quotes with JJ Tech systems, ensure you understand what you are being quoted and confirm that all the required items are included.

Understanding the Types of Jet Pump System Designs and Their Features

JJ Tech Surface Pump and Skid Package

Hydra-Cell Diaphragm Pump – JJ Tech exclusively uses the Hydra-Cell pump technology from Wanner Engineering. This is a seal-less pump design without packing, it also does not require external plunger lubrication.

Power Transmission – JJ Tech uses Multi-Groove Power Band, or Gates Poly-Chain with a minimum service factor of 1.6x – 3x rated load.

Electric Motor Load Side Bearings – JJ Tech uses insulated roller bearings to optimize electric motor life. Ball bearings should never be used for a side-load system.

Inlet/Outlet Connections – JJ Tech installs carbon steel ball valves on the inlet and outlet of skids to isolate fluid from the pump during servicing. Our well jet pump connections are either hammer unions or ANSI flanges, depending on requirements.

Filtration Included/Installed (None, Single Strainer, Duplex) – JJ Tech uses ANSI rated duplex strainers for filtering pumped fluid. JJ Tech also includes pressure gauges installed on either side of the strainer to better determine when filters need to be cleaned.

Pulsation Control (Suction/Discharge Dampener) – JJ Tech installs 16- to 20-in maintenance free discharge dampeners on 200- and 330-hp pumps. Pulsation control is also available on 100- and 155-hp pumps.

Pressure Transmitter – Installed to control pump pressure with PID loop on VFD
Discharge Pressure Gauge – 4-in liquid filled 5000# pressure gauge

Turbine Flowmeter with Digital Flow Monitor - Installed on every JJ Tech Skid Package

Discharge Check Valve - DMIC Spring Loaded (65# Crack Pressure) 10,000psi check valve

Safety Systems

Safety Systems are included to protect the pump, the people, and the environment.

Murphy TTD Annunciator - Data Logs all shutdowns to reduce troubleshooting time

Murphy OPLC Discharge Pressure Switchgauge - Protects pump from over pressure as well as identifying issues with the overall system, when discharge pressure is too low.

Murphy OPLC Suction Pressure Switchgauge - Protects pump from undesirable inlet conditions that can be harmful to any positive displacement pump.

Murphy L129 Hi/Lo Pump Oil Level Sensor - Ensures that the pump oil level is within the normal operating levels.

Murphy VS-2 Vibration Sensor - Detects unusual/erratic pump vibrations which would indicate a pump problem prior to what could become catastrophic pump failure.

Mechanical Pressure Safety Valve(PSV) - Simple spring-loaded safety device that relives pressure buildup over a desired level. An absolute must for any PD pump.
